30 Days of Me: Favorite TV Show

So instead of continually putting the list on here, I created a "page" for it. If you want to see what's coming, just look to the left and click it.

"Nothing worth having comes easy"
(read on...)

Alright favorite TV show. First, let me talk about the honorable mentions.

*I don't consider wrestling to be a "show" in the traditional sense, but if I did, Raw would be my #1 by a longshot.

*Tosh.0 and Community are my current favorites so I have to mention them.

*South Park has gone in and out of being one of my favorites, but I will still always consider it a good show.

*I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report religiously. Seriously, I watch it every morning as I eat my cereal. But I put it up there with wrestling as not really being a "show" in the traditional sense.

*Getting off Comedy Central, I used to come home and watch TRL. I will admit it. And I can pretty much watch the first five minutes of Full House or The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and I can tell you what is going to happen.

*I went on a Heroes marathon over my last Christmas break. However, the first season was the best I have ever seen and I can't list it as a favorite because no season even came close to matching it.

*I would put Lost, but I don't think it's fair because I only just started the fourth season. But if it keeps up like this, it will be in my top 3.

*Arrested Development is a classic series. However, I didn't even watch one episode until January of this year. You can thank jeanette for getting me on the right track. But since I waited so long, I don't feel I deserve to have it at the top.

*A very close second? The Office. The first few seasons were so hysterical, yet could be so deep at times. The show can still be funny, but now that Jim and Pam are married with a kid I really feel like it has lost a step. Or maybe I'm just a critic.

Which brings me to my favorite show:

Scrubs

Let's get the hate out of the way: the last couple seasons weren't as great as the beginning. That WILL NOT take away how good this show was to me. It gave me laughs when I needed it. It touched my emotional side when I needed it too. I feel like I knew the characters by the end of it. I loved everything about it: JD and Cox, JD and Turk, Turk and Carla, The Janitor... even Ted has some memorable moments. And the guest stars were all great. I'm not kidding when I say that I got my roommate hooked on it and we knocked out an entire season in one weekend. The summer of 2008 is officially referred to as "that Scrubs summer." It was the summer my girlfriend and I broke up, but when I saw one episode I was still trying to get her back. It contained this gem:

We didn't get back together, haha, but it still got to me.

But what made Scrubs great? The guy love between JD and Turk. I will leave you with this:

  1. I have all the seasons of Scrubs - but I boycotted this season because in my heart of hearts it ended last season.

    Great pick - such a heartfelt show that is also hilarious. So well done.

  3. OK- I have to just cover my head for projectiles: I can't stand Scrubs. I have tried so hard because I have a lovely friend who is obsessed with it..and I just can't do it.

    Arrested Development and The Office? Top 3 and 2 (respectively).

    My number one currently?? Curb Your Enthusiasm. Because some days I feel like Larry David. I think that is what I'm going to be like as I age. Because I say things and people are like, "Jesus fucking christ, Sara!! How can you say that?!" I don't know...because I'm awesome?? Plus I love how the show is improv. So hard to do yet they all pull if out perfectly.

  4. OMFG- I'm a fucking airhead. Um... #1 show is True Blood. God forgive me for temporarily forgetting the awesomeness that is sex and violence wrapped up in a pretty little package. That show alone makes me think biting is ok. So move all my previously mentioned shows down a notch to make room for this fabulous show. Season 3 starts on the 13th, I've watched seasons 1 and 2 on my box sets to get up to date, I'm tracking everything True Blood, I've seen all of the minisode teasers for season 3 and I plan my life around Sunday nights. AND I am paying an extra $40 on my satellite for this show alone. Except Matt thinks I watch a ton of HBO to justify it. *snicker* silly, silly boy. :)

  5. I love southpark! And I love love love the office (that will be in mine tomorrow). I used to watch Scrubs all the time and loved it but I just got out of it. I really like the first vidoe--it's so true. And it reminded me that they always pick the perfect music. The second one is hilarious! These make me wish I kept watching!

  6. @Allison:
    I have the first three seasons. I'm working on it :)

    @Sara:
    I have heard a lot of good things about True Blood. I need to check it out. Or at least learn the violence so I can use it on you for not liking Scrubs

    @Jaime:
    Yea man, you missed out on good times. But you watched The Office so you still got some hilarious Jim/Dwight moments :)

  7. I called this in my head, I knew Scrubs, but not the rest of them. I like Scrubs but not nearly as much as my roommates did. I love me some Zac Braff haha.

  8. the thing i love most about scrubs is that it's one of those shows that's on ALL.THE.TIME in syndication on different channels, haha.

  9. Man I forgot all about Community. I loved the first 2 seasons of Heroes but then it just went downhill. They just stopped playing it in the middle of this season, and I'm kinda glad b/c nothing they were doing made any sense any more!
