30 Days of Me: Favorite Song

So I am stealing this idea from Cassie, one of the few In Real Life friends I have on blogger. I'm not so sure as to the rules. If it has to be 30 days in a row or not, but that's what I'm gonna do. Considering it's June 1, this will wrap up at the end of the month. I like it because a) it gives me ideas and keeps me out there and b) most are relatively short.

(sidenote: This does mean double posts on Sundays. Sorry for that)

My favorite song:

So here we go with the first day and I swear it's just a coincidence that the first day is a music question. Usually, people will go with "I can't pick just one song" and I can totally understand why. Think about how many songs exist in the world. But, a few years ago I declared this song to be my favorite and that will probably not ever change.

I could go on and on about why this song is my favorite, but I will just keep it simple: It's beautiful.

When I had the privilege of seeing Coldplay in concert, they said goodbye to the crowd and I was like "no way" because they hadn't played "Yellow" yet. Sure enough, they came back and played it, yellow lights and all.

I will say this though, I don't really have a good concept of what the song is actually about. But I like to see what other people like to think it is about. This is one track where I never want to actually know what went in to it. I like it being open to interpretation.

  1. Interesting idea - I won't steal it though (I have enough to do - 30 photos, and my other weekly thingys).

    Yellow was the first song I ever heard by Coldplay (I think it was their first hit in North America). I don't think it's my favourite Coldplay song though.

  2. Also, don't ever apologize for blogging twice in one day.

  3. 1. Love the concept. YAY for more Mr. O!! I love me some Mr. O but you knew that already. ;)

    2. Two posts in one day is going to blow my mind. You are trying to one up me. I just know it! :)

    3. I love Yellow. It's my favorite song. Side note-- I came up with a new tattoo concept. I'm just trying to save money to get it (hopefully by July 4 it'll be done). BUT it's going to be on my shoulder (I think..unless I pussy out but I don't think that'll happen) and it's a cluster of yellow stars...with Olivia and Jackson's names (so they look like the star trails) and the lyrics "For you I bleed myself dry". I think. I'm like 99% sure. It's been oh--10 years since my first and only tat so we'll see. Better ideas?? I'm open. ;)

    4. I'm very interested in the tickle your fancy days. I would probably post my fav vibrators on those days. :O

  4. One of the reasons I love Coldplay so much is because their songs are so complex and the lyrics can be interpreted in so many different ways. That said, I have no idea what "Yellow" is about, but I know that I love it so that's all that matters. :) Some people say it's about death and drugs, but to me it has always been a really beautiful and uplifting song that makes me smile. :)

    Looking forward to the 30 Days of Mr. O!

  7. @Allison:
    Care to share which is your favorite?

    @Sara:
    I hope you still love me after a month of me

    @Lisa:
    Sometimes I feel we just "get" each other. Or maybe we just get Chris Martin. Both?

    @Cassie:
    look what you started. And are you seriously telling me you never heard "Yellow"?

    @jeanette:
    Really? I could see you not thinking it was #1 (would it help if I told you that "One Eighty by Summer" was #2?) but I didn't think it would be a surprise
