First, let's get the legal stuff out of the way. A Rush of Blog to the Head is like a two-way mirror. I let my "blogger friends" into my real world, but the majority of my "real-life friends" don't know about it. Why? It's just easier that way. It's a place that I can have as an escape from my reality, so to speak, while still being me. But if you would like to join me on the other side, I have handy social-networking links available.
But if you clicked on the "About Me" to find out just that, here are the basics:
*I was born in California and lived there till I was 8 when I moved to Alabama. The majority of my family still lives in the Golden State so I have kind of grown up on both ends of the nation.
*I recently graduated Auburn University with a degree in journalism and am currently working at a newspaper in Alabama's capital as a public safety reporter.
Those are the details. But to get to know me is to know that I love music. And movies. And sports (football mostly - Denver Broncos to be exact). And blogging.
But first, did I mention I love music? Chances are it will be the subject of about 70% of my posts, so hopefully you like that kind of stuff so you will stick around here. Every now and then I get a little personal, but hey, we all need a place to vent, right?
In some ways, I'm a stereotypical guy and in others, not so much. For example, I can recite dialogue from The Fast and The Furious but am clueless to what goes on underneath the hood of my own car. Also, I can wire up a surround sound system and jam out with the latest speakers, but putting together a bookshelf could give me problems. I can't really cook, but I enjoy a good steak when life affords me the opportunity. I like getting in the car and just going somewhere but I also enjoy sitting at the house and having a "lazy Sunday."
But when it comes to blogging, I love the connections. I've met some really cool people (one in "real life") since I started it up in April 2009. I am truly thankful for (what I don't think is weird to call) friendships that I have made.
(also, I like to use parenthesis)
So stick around. Tell me Hi and that you loved/hated what I wrote about. I will make the utmost attempt to return the favor.
And if you are new, here are some of my favorite posts if you want to get to know me a little more (also be sure to check out the blog roll page for the best in the blogging world).
