What's My Age Again?

It makes me wonder. Am I 22? or 12? Because I just got frustrated playing a video game. That's right. Resident Evil 5 got to me. Stupid "boss" fight. I would like to take this moment, if he were to read this, to apologize to my roommate.

Also, the title of this blog of course refers to Blink 182. I, for one, am pretty excited they are getting back together. However, should I be? My favorite albums by them are "Enema of the State" and "Take off Your Pants and Jacket". The ones they came out with after that, I wasn't a huge fan of. But those two albums changed my life. Ok, maybe that's overstating it. But they did help me grow up. It makes me wonder how songs like "Adam's Song" will be seen when i'm 40.

Made a promise to myself. I WILL have a tattoo by the end of the summer. I still don't know of what or where. I have a couple ideas, that I will run by jak herself. We will see what progress we can make.

With that, here are my plans/goals for the summer:
*tattoo
*go to the Corner
*road trip to Cali
*No Doubt/Paramore concert
*Taking Back Sunday/Envy on The Coast/Anberlin concerts

And the plans/goals for the weekend:
*start studying for psych of choice and decision making test
*start looking at paper for psych of aging
*clean room
*Fast and Furious
*Wrestlemania 25
*Finish RE5 (maybe)
*studio time Saturday night

On a final note, listening to a different pandora station that consists of Jack's Mannequin/Something Corporate/Lost Ocean. I recommend it.

Random lyrics of the day:

Petals getting picked
with the love-yous
and the love-you-nots

Five years going by
Everyone is staying on their side

But don't never be down
I said don't ever
Because you're gonna keep 'em hanging around

Like a referee with a whistle

So let's get the sports stuff out of the way. Jay Cutler was traded from the Broncos to the Bears today. I was sad to see him go, I will admit, but more sad because of the quarterback we got for him, Kyle Orton. (I really hope I look back on this a year from now with Kyle Orton being my new favorite player). We also get a first round pick plus some others in this year's draft. (Fingers are now crossed for somehow getting Mark Sanchez from USC). Now, I am REALLY interested in the draft. It was a tradition for a while to watch it at Kelly's, but somehow that has faltered.

On to more serious news, my sister and brother-in-law will in fact, not be coming this weekend. Everything was working out and then a personal conflict came in to keep them from coming. I wish them the best in the upcoming week and take it as a sign for me to start studying this weekend for my test on Thursday. Will I? Honestly, with Fast and Furious and Wrestlemania this weekend, plus the fact that we still have Resident Evil 5, probably not. But I will try.

*UPDATE: I made a 79 on that psych test I have been talking about. Instead of saying I made a C, I like to frame it as I was one point away from a B. Which I am happy about :)

Speaking of RE5, I really like this game. I like how we are pacing ourselves too. Definitely worth the almost 12 dollars it is costing to rent it this long.

I am listening to pandora for the first time in probably a month. The station I am currently listening to has Minus the Bear and Death Cab for Cutie. I recommend it.

I think I am about to start "searching" for people with the same favorites as me. So be warned: If you put down Taking Back Sunday as your favorite music, chances are you are getting a good looking at.

Here is some good news: My true BFF (Best Female Friend) should be here next weekend. It would be nice to spend more than 20 minutes at a time with her (which is usually my fault).

I am 70% sure I am going to UPC's "High Rollin on the Plains" tomorrow. Hopefully it will be fun...

Random lyric of the day:

Because I fell in love with the girl at the rock show.
She said "What?" and I told her that I didn't know.

Decisions

I'm struggling with how personal, or "deep," I want to get on this blog. I mean, it's for me. And it's a journal-type entry as the description says, but still I have friends that follow and one that may join soon, and if I talked about what I really wanted to, it would be about him. For the sake of manning up, I will wait till I talk to him in person before going off on here, even though it's basically venting to myself.

Also on the subject of deepness, I really want to pour my heart out on here. But I don't know if I'm ready to do that yet. And do I name names? Or refer to persons simply as "her." As in, "it's been two weeks since i've talked to her. I wonder if that even matters to her..."

These are the decisions I have to make regarding this blog. How light-hearted will it stay or will I allow myself to get personal. I think I will because that is the point of not advertising on myspace of facebook, like I am very willing to do.

Also, I am trying to stay current so that when Jme visits in two weeks she will be able to show about this 20something blogger site. I really want to join and get a community and all that. But i'm still in the rookie stages I guess.

One last thing. The title of this post says it all. Sometimes, you have to make certain decisions. Some come with age. I am learning that and I hope the people around me start to learn that as well.

On to the randomness:

Worked out this morning before going to work. It was pretty awesome. It gave me a good feeling the rest of the day. A feeling I am going to try my hardest to duplicate in the days to come.

Made decisions within myself to apply for a position on the plainsman and wegl staff next year. I've only been on the plainsman on a volunteer basis before and only been a dj at wegl, so it will be cool to have some positions there. Maybe.

Played some more Resident Evil 5 today. I really like this game. A lot more than I thought I would. Sad we have to take it back Wednesday...

I think i've done good studying wise this weekend. Could have studied better, I mean you could always study better, but I think a lil kick in the morning and I should be good for the test tomorrow. Then it's time to get in one last adventure with RE5.

I think I have a project I want Jme to work on. She is pretty creative, I hope she can, or wants, to help me out. We shall see.

Time for me to go find those wings of luck to carry me through this test tomorrow.

Random lyric of the day:

Somebody's gonna die
I'm gonna get in trouble
My ex will start a fight
He's gonna start a fight
WE'RE ALL GONNA GET IN A FIGHT!

Day 1

So I think I am going to try and keep a format with this. I listen to music everyday and I love little random lyrics that pop into my head so probably at least one of those. I would like this to be a daily thing and it would be cool if people started reading this, but honestly I want it to be daily for me. My handwriting is too bad for a physical journal and my life has had so many ups and downs that it would be good to keep track. See how much I change in a day to day, week to week, and month to month basis (to early to tell about year to year). So with that said, here goes...

Short term goals:
*Figure out this blogspot thing and master it
*Change up my myspace with a new layout for a while (is that bad that I actually plan for that?)
*CLEAN (specific areas - bathroom and living room)
*Get in some studying this weekend so I can raise my test scores up in Psychology of Aging
*Try to get back on a schedule next week -- attempt to start waking up early so I can work out in the mornings

Long term goals:
*Get grades to help my GPA
*Save up money for various events
*Lose some pounds
*Learn the piano

Today was pretty much a usual day. Being a delivery driver at a flower shop, you either have work or you don't and today I had a little bit of work. But it allowed me to come home and mess with this, so that's good :) (side note -- thanks jme for introducing me to all this).

Rented Resident Evil 5. Pretty awesome that it has co-op so that my roommate and I can play it. Speaking of my roommate, I feel sometimes our arrangement is like a marriage. When I get off work before he does, I wait till he gets home and try to plan stuff for us to do together. Man, I need to meet some girls...

No matter what else, I NEED to study this weekend. So let me get to sleep so I can get on it.

Random lyric of the day:

The water is warm,
but its sending me shivers.
A baby is born,
crying out for attention.
Memories fade,
like looking through a fogged mirror
Decisions to decisions are made and not fought
But I thought,
this wouldn't hurt a lot.
I guess not.
