These are the things that I think about

*I love getting new followers. But then it becomes strange. Like, I changed my voice because I am talking to people instead of just posting what I do. Oh well, it's good times anyways since I have a few regulars (outside of people I know in "real life") that comment a good 80% of the time, and I really appreciate it. These are people like MeMe, the girl, and jeanette. Thanks guys.

*I sometimes wonder what Dave Chappelle's show would be like if he was still around. He has some of the greatest segments in TV history, in my opinion. I always thought his show was funny, but I also respected it because I didn't feel uncomfortable for laughing. My argument for his show was that he wasn't making fun of races, but of the stereotypes that those races have. This is why I felt it was ok to laugh at not only the white jokes, but the mexican and black jokes as well. And not in a "It's ok to laugh because it's a black guy that's telling it" kind of way, but just because it was so ridiculous it was funny. But a lot has happened since he left. There has been the overuse of Auto tune in the music industry, the popularity of Twilight, and of course the election. I really wish I could have seen what he would have done with all of that material. Who is this Dave Chappelle and why do I miss him so? Click here to find out.

*Finally, keeping this short, I sometimes wonder if Heidi and Spencer from the Hills (forgive me if I misspelled) know that they are basically a walking punch line. I feel like people only invite them to their shows (such as the Today show or late show with Jimmy Fallon) to make fun of them to their face. I think the only people in the world that take them seriously is themselves. It has actually gotten to the point where it is almost too easy to make fun of them.

*Hopefully there will be pics from the concert tomorrow. I know, for a fact, good times will be had.

Random lyric of the day:

so come on over and
knock on our door
it's open, what's ya
waiting for

we might be spawled
out on the floor
but we still make
lovely company

pull up a chair
i'll pour some tea
we'll shoot the shit
'bout everything
til you get sick
of politics and
flip on the tv screen
we stare at the tv screen

that donnie darko DVD
has been repeating for
a week and we know every
single word

i've got an ipod
like a pirate ship
i'll sail the seas
with fifty thousand
songs i've never heard
all the best of them
go fa la la la la la la la...

  1. Aw, thanks so much! How could I not comment? By now you know that I never shut up. Ever. Going to check out your other stalkers now, too :) They must have good taste.

Oh, and about Dave Chappelle? I was wondering the exact same thing during the presidential election campaign (Yes, it was HUGE news over in Australia, too. I spent election day drinking margaritas and watching history unfold. Yes, I am a complete dork. But I have hope that it might happen here one day, too.) I was a huge fan of The Chappelle Show, and I kind of miss it :) Yet another reason why you're awesome.

    Have fun tomorrow night!

  5. I feel the same way you do about followers...when I started this thing I had one "follower" who happend to be friend, now there's these random people reading my blog and I feel like I'm supossed to be charming and whitty for them, and need to remind myself that it's for me, no one else!
Also, most def agree on the Heidi/Spencer walking talking punchline.

  7. Hey, found you on 20 somethings...your're right about the whole changing your voice thing. I've been writing a little less lately because I'm trying not to. Gaining followers is great but it's hard to get male followers with some of my content...hint hint :) BTW, nice blog

  8. I haven't thought critically about Dave Chappelle in over four years... I have both seasons though. It seemed very socially critical (and thus ok by me) back when I watched it. Comedy is part of societal discourse, and it's important for comedians who experience discrimination to educate people in whatever way they can on race.

Thank you for the follow and comments! Your blog is great and I'm following your links too.
