So I first off want to thank everybody that gave me ideas. Most made it in, some sadly did not. But there will be other shows :)
With that said, here is the entire show. All three hours of it. WAIT! Don't get intimidated, it's good I promise. But just to make sure, space it out. Listen to it while you are getting ready for work/school/going out/, while you are cleaning house, or while you read interesting stuff on the internet, like fmylife, texts from last night or these wonderful blogs. Use it as background, but I promise it's good. Just push play...
However, here are some notes about it:
*The file is pretty big (its three hours, remember), so you may have to press play and walk away, letting it load for a minute. Also, the sound is a little low. So if you turn it up and go to play something else, you will notice the different volume level.
*My roommate wasn't able to go in, so I went in during his show, so that's what the first 40 minutes is. The first track is just one where I pressed record to talk over. The second track is a chill track I used to go into a little Coldplay mix he put together. If you don't like mixes, just skip to the 41 minute mark and that's when my show officially starts. But trust me, it's a good mix.
*It is a college radio show, so while there are no commercials, we do have to play Public Service Announcements or PSA's. Hopefully they don't get too distracting.
So with that said, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. If you listen to any of it, even like five minutes worth, tell me what you thought about. I leave you now with every band I managed to squeeze in there:

I'm jealous! I want to be a dj! I don't think I could, plus I'm like Miley Cyrus and sound like I've been smoking from the womb (I've never smoked!) My middle school choir teacher told me a sang like a man... that's so traumatizing haha
ReplyDeleteIt sounds really good! you got a good mix there but i reckon you should put the bands in playing order.. just so its easier to find the part to listen to... maybe next time?
ReplyDelete@jeanette:
ReplyDeleteyou could still get on the radio. It would be your signature voice, haha. We should play Rock Band together. I usually take the girlier songs, and i guess you could take the manly ones :)
@Faker:
thanks for the compliment man and the advice... but you figured out my gameplan. My thought process was that if you knew what songs you were coming, you wouldn't listen, you would just skip. I am a fan of "I wonder what's coming next" I was hoping to surprise some people when the songs came in. But alas, I guess it would be easier, haha
NICE! I love the list of bands! I'm gonna have to listen to the rest of this... during work tomorrow hehe
ReplyDeleteJust listened to the WHOLE SHOW while I was sewing!
ReplyDeleteFirst: Mix was awesome.
Second: (SO embarrassing to admit this!) You have a great radio voice. Sexy! (Blushing so much right now - but it had to be said!)
Third: Your show was so much fun to listen to - discovered some new bands I'd never heard before, which made me really, really happy ;)
Fourth: Stupidly chuffed that you played 'The Joker and The Thief'. And you saying "Aussie" cracked me up! It's always funny to hear in an American accent :)
Post next week's show too!
@Lisa:
ReplyDeleteI hope you finished listening to it, and I hope it made your work day go by faster :)
@the girl:
First -- I will tell my roommate what you said (if you are talking about the Coldplay thing, if you are talking about the whole thing then thank you)
Second -- Now I am blushing, haha. I need to work on mumbling though
Third -- You saying that makes me really really happy. That's the whole point of getting on the radio, trying to spread the music
Fourth -- Here is some american/australia comparisons... I don't know what chuffed means, haha. And yea, I was trying to be cool with the Aussie thing. And it's weird hearing that i have an accent, haha
Fifth -- i think i'm about to break the blog barrier. Expect an e-mail shortly to discuss books and music and such :)
Bring it on!
