I feel like I haven't posted a, what would you call it, "talking" blog in a good while. And I feel like some people have fallen off the Mr O train. So, thanks to those few followers who stuck by me.
I know I've said this like 27 times, but I really want to get back into blogging. One of the reasons I have kind of slacked off is because I've sort of been stuck in transit since the move from college to adult life. I was staying at an extended stay motel till I found an actual place to move into, which I finally did a week or so ago. But now that all that is settled, I am really about to dive back into this soon. That means: *revamping the look of this very blog, *utilizing 20something and paying attention to others posts, and *going through my reader and cutting out certain blogs so I can focus on the good ones.
But here is what I have been doing lately:
*graduated, which I might post pics of if anyone is interested (however, most people on here are friends with me on facebook and they have kinda been posted on there). But I guess there are still stories to tell
*going back and forth with a certain girl that causes me to post lyrics about relationships
*diving headfirst into my reporting job. I was all over the front page Tuesday with profiles of our exiting Chief of Police (who is taking a job with the US Marshals) and the person who will take his place.
*getting used to this city. Hung out with coworkers after work the other week and that was kinda cool.
*got moved in to a new house and the funny "first house story" is that it slants. Like, when I first set up my computer desk, my chair rolled all the way back to the other side of the house. Yea, I got a rug to stop it so that's all good. My bfff jme came up and helped me where I seriously needed it. So big thanks to her.
*having really bad toothaches. I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth taken out honestly a year or so ago (maybe two?) but never got to it because of money. This past weekend though, the pain shot through the roof with something I have never experienced. It was like my teeth were pulsing. That started on Saturday and I am still dealing with the pain. My benefits at my job doesn't start until November so it looks I have a couple months to deal with this or I am gonna have to rob a store or something.
*college football started last week which I was excited about, but NFL starts tonight which I am REALLY excited about. I am in a fantasy league (which jeanette is also a part of) and I am just all around excited for this year. I hope my readers don't mind sports talk because this is the year we (the denver broncos) got Tim Tebow and will see how that situation plays out.
*I spent a week hyping up the new Anberlin cd. I have to say, so far, I'm pretty happy with it. There's not really any skipable songs.
Lastly, to end this on a random note, I think this is proof that Will Smith's family will one day take over the world.
* Congrats on graduating - I saw your pictures on FB.
ReplyDelete* Urgh - life sucks sometimes, doesn't it?
* Congrats on that again!
* Glad you are getting out a bit and socializing in your new city.
* Wait, did you buy a house? If so that's the most impressive jump from school to real life I've ever heard! Do you watch How I Met Your Mother? There's a great episode about a slanted floor.
* I got my wisdoms pulled in high school (when I was still on my dad's benefits). Yeah, my super awesome Canadian health care doesn't include anything dental.
* My brother was visiting on Monday and he was doing his fantasy NFL football draft. He was also watching baseball and the Labour Day (CFL) classic on TV. That's one reason I don't miss my brother...too much sports on TV! I'll tolerate your sports chatter though, or I'll just skim those bits.
* Glad you like it. I had anticipated a new album a few months back and it ended up really disappointing me.
* Holy crap!
-I got my wisdom teeth out. It sucks so yeah- good luck with that. Except I had a really funky problem so the recovery was worse than most people (of course- I do everything the best I can). Oh- and my heart stopped during it. Hope that doesn't happen to you because it's really fucking weird to wake up in a totally different place half sedated.
ReplyDelete-Someone needs to stop the Smith family. I can't take it.
-My first apartment slanted too! I had a 2x4 holding my fridge against the wall. No solution was ever made for the flooding in the bathroom or the snow drift in teh living room. Or the pigeons in the closets.
-Say no to the girl. I've got a feeling on this. And I've never been wrong, so there's that. :)
-Jme is a rockstar.
Have I ever told you that I'm proud of you? Because I am. Awww, I'm done being mushy now. Sara's right on two things--just say no & I am a rockstar.
ReplyDelete@Allison:
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your responses. The main one I need to address is no, I unfortunately did not buy a house, but that would have been quite the leap, eh? It's just a one bedroom/one bath that I am renting for at least six months. Then we will see what happens :)
@Sara:
I have to disagree. I only wish my last name was Smith at this point ;)
@j:
What? Jme gettin mushy? But thanks man.
@Sara & j:
Yes, she is a rock star. And if I could find my senior yearbook, I would have the "Most Unique" picture to prove it. And saying no would be the best thing, but not eating that extra piece of pizza would also be best, but I do it anyway. I will learn one day...
I want to see graduation pics, since I am lame and don't do facebook. Glad you are finally settling in. Looking forward to the new blog and more posts from you.
