Today's post is the latest music video from Paramore. I am really liking it for a number of reasons, including:
*visually, it looks amazing
*Hayley pulls off being a blonde really well
*they are using images and themes from their album instead of what they did with their first video for this album, which had a decent concept, but sometimes just felt like people crunched in a room, and honestly came off a little lazy, just in my opinion

Here is the thing about this video though. As much as I like what they did, I'm not exactly sure what they are saying/doing at the end. If you know for sure, or have a creative guess, let me know.
My view on the ending is that when the little girl falls in the hole that is all her dreams and fantasies being disputed, but when Hayley picks up the animal and walks away it signifies her being okay despite not having her dreams come true.

I love this. I got chills watching it. What I got from the ending......burying all her childhood fantasies. Like Jeanette says, when she walks away, she's finally done with it and can 'bury' it.

ReplyDeleteAnd man- I think they really need to release "misguided ghosts" because that would fly up the charts. I like this song, but really? I don't see it ever being #1. Or generating more sales. But Hayley looks gorgeous in this video, that's for sure. :)
Video looks very slick. It actually reminds me a bit of AFI's "Girl's Not Grey." And I agree with Sara, "Misguided Ghosts" was a huge standout for me, a solid track that could possibly make people take them a bit more seriously.
ReplyDeleteThe video’s quite nice but I’m not a fan of paramore at all I’m afraid. They don’t excite me in any way shape or form..to me they sound like every other American emo band out there, and they have a very 90’s sound plus the singer sounds awful without the band behind her...

Misguided Ghosts is my favorite track off the cd. I would love to see what a video would look like, but would not want to hear that song on the radio.
ReplyDeleteAs for Miss*H, i love your honestly. That's what makes this blogging world go round. Even if you just killed one of my favorites and posted a link to a song I really enjoyed by them. Haha, it was great. The thing I didn't really like about that video is it looks like she is reading the words, and that kind of sucks.
