So for some reason, I went to reply to the comments on my
last post, but it wasn't working with me. So here is what was going through my head when I wrote that.
When I first started blogging, I was addicted. And that's no exaggeration. I was posting almost every day, checking a bunch of blogs daily as well. It got to the point where I had this little community, where we were all commenting on each other's stuff, that included names like the girl with the pink teacup, jeanette, Mr. Condescending, Natalie, Miss H and Lola Lakely. While a couple of them still do some posts, the majority of them have fallen off for various reasons.
In the almost two years since, I've met other cool people who have stuck around with me (Sara, Allison, Lisa) but for some reason in recent months, I was just not feeling the desire to log in to blogspot. And that's the thing - I want to. I want to be back into it.
So, as much as I had talked about it in the past, that post wasn't an announcement of operations ceasing to exist here. It was more of a memo to myself to try and get back into this. And a call back to one crazy summer.
A blogger friend of mine, who, like others I think is starting to drop the "blogger" description and just go with the friend word, suggested to me to consider not closing up shop on A Rush of Blog to the Head. Discussed always having a space of your own to come to with your thoughts. That advice was well received and I will honestly probably always keep this open.
I wish I could say that I've been incredible busy and that's why blogging has been left behind. But actually, I've been tweetin and tumblin with the best of em. So maybe it's just that my attention span has been dramatically lowered? And also I just knocked out the first season of Friday Night Lights and all of what Parks and Recreation has done before that. So it's not a time issue.
I've actually thought about it and I think it's because of my job. I spend all my working hours researching and looking up stuff, taking notes and putting those into a story that goes into an editing process that maybe I am just burnt out from writing.
But that sounds like an excuse.
And honestly blogspot, you deserve better than that. You've been there for me in tough times. Maybe we have just moved past the infatuation stage and now we gotta work at our relationship.
So let's get to work.
